Mike Kermode has over thirty years' experience in the software business and the last fourteen years have been devoted to encryption methods, specialising in Public Key techniques. Projects have included authentication software for credit card terminals currently in use at Total filling stations.
Mike developed the PTP technique which is particularly suitable for use with encrypted email. Overcoming many of the barriers associated with digital certificates, PTP works without them while observing Public Key cryptography disciplines and international standards.
The system has increased security due to the complete absence of secret keys/ data on the computer. The rapid and easy-to-understand product deployment has been designed to bring email encryption within the reach of non-expert users, PTP being no more difficult to use than email itself.
PTP stands for Person To Person. It is suitable for communication between private individuals and has additional features enabling use within organisations, particularly where changing staff populations can present security problems.
As well as promoting the PTP product, we are particularly keen to interest software developers who might want to implement customised systems using the underlying library. This is much more than a collection of algorithms - it is essentially "PKI in a bottle".
